Featuring The Honorable Charlene Drew Jarvis, his daughter will be talking about her latest collaboration on her book, "Genius Unbroken." Written with Dr. Craig Miller. Dr. Jarvis will also speak about the lessons in leadership that she learned from her father.

Readers will find in "Genius Unbroken" the story of Dr. Charles Drew's seminal and life-saving work while his life offers an enduring lesson in resilience, intellectual triumph, and the transformative power of unwavering determination. Dr. Charles Drew was a pioneering figure in blood banking and transfusion medicine, developing innovative methods for storing blood and blood plasma, leading to the establishment of large-scale blood banks.

Dr. Drew opposed the segregation of blood, both by the Red Cross and the military, policies that were changed because of his influence. Dr. Drew left the Red Cross, not because of it's now-changed policy of blood segregation by race, but because of his original mission, the training of more African American surgeons at the Howard University Medical School.
